Cailin Evans, Kindergarten

Born and raised in St. Louis, I am as passionate about this town as I am about my profession.  I believe strongly in the betterment of children and am thrilled to be living out my dream in this incredible city of ours. After graduating from Ursuline Academy in 1991, I went on to recieve my teaching degree for the University of Missouri, St.Louis.  I began my teaching career at St. Margaret of Scotland in 2006 as a fourth grade teacher. I took a couple of years off to become licensened as a Foster Parent and returned to SMOS to teach Kindergarten in 2009. I LOVE the age group I am now working with and hope to have a long run at this incredible school.  It has taught me as much, if not more, than I have taught my students. Along with teaching in the classroom, I have spent the last 5 years involved in the SMOS aftercare program.  Last year I became the Co-Director of the program along with my partner teacher, Rita Harvatin. This new adventure has allowed me to maintain relationships with past student as they continue on in their educations as well as forge new friendhips with students and families I may not have previously know.  This new position has been a blessing on many levels.

Aside from teaching I am the proud mother of 3 sons and a daughter as well as a foster mom to many.  I have been a member of the PTO at my parish, served on the board of the Holy Redeemer Catholic Women's League, was a long time cub scout leader and a volunteer at many children's organizations in the city.  As you can tell, children are, and have always been, my passion. I am honored and humbled to be spend my day with the students of this school. It is a life long dream realized.
