Melanie Donovan, Third Grade

Education and teaching has always been a big part of my life. I have wanted to be a teacher ever since I was in first grade and I'm thrilled that my dreams have become a reality!

I was born and raised right here in St. Louis, graduating from the Ladue School District. After completing my year of student teaching in a first grade classroom in the Hazelwood School District, I received my B.A. in Elementary Education from the University of Missouri (Go Tigers!!).  I then received my M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction, again from the University of Missouri following the completion of a year-long fellowship program. During that year, I taught second grade in the Hazelwood School District. This is my seventh year at St. Margaret of Scotland, and after teaching fourth grade for four years, and third grade for two years, I couldn't be more excited to return as the part-time learning consultant this next school year!

In my free time, I enjoy reading, playing sports, including soccer and cycling, and cheering on my favorite sports teams! I'm training my third half-marathon in October. I also love to travel and spend time with my family and friends. I have a wonderful husband, a fabulous daughter, and a loyal dog, Sophie, a lab/Plott hound mix.
