ST. MARGARET OF SCOTLAND SCHOOL WALK-A-THON

Our annual Walk-A-Thon is coming!  One of the main goals is to earn money for our school, but just as important, it is to build community spirit and to have fun.  Plan on bringing a lawn chair or a blanket to relax and enjoy the day. Let’s look forward to this FUN-RAISER DAY!!!

The Walk-A-Thon will be on Saturday, October 21, 2006 in Tower Grove Park.

The proceeds from this event will be used for various operational expenses during the 2006-2007 school year.

The goal this year is $10,000.

If our goal is met, the students will receive a free day. That’s right, they get a day off of school!  The scheduled day off is Friday, December 15, 2006 if we meet our goal.

Participation is either by walking on that day and/or a donation (any amount of donation is welcomed).

The activities will take place at the west end of Tower Grove Park.  A one-mile path is marked off with verification stations every quarter mile.

Beverages and food will be available.

Since this is a FAMILY event, parents are invited to walk also.  Better yet, they can be “sponsored” just as the student(s) are!  Parents will get their own mileage card and be tallied separately.

Any endeavor such as this requires enthusiasm from each student and positive support from parents and staff!

Prizes will be award for:

  1. Top-earning families
  2. Top-earning grades Montessori---grade 3 ($75.00) Grade 4-----grade 8 ($75.00)
  3. Students walking the most miles Montessori---grade 3 Grade 4-----grade 8
  4. Class with the highest percentage of participation
