Mission Statement of the Catholic Youth Council
The mission of the Catholic Youth Council is to proclaim Jesus Christ in word and action by serving the needs of every boy and girl, regardless of ability, religious affiliation or ethnic background, to develop discipline and skills necessary to obtain and sustain individual achievements, build character and to develop valued relationships and teamwork. With that mission in mind, the objective of the St. Margaret of Scotland Athletic Association is to foster sound athletics through programs that will promote good sportsmanship, respect for authority, self-discipline and leadership skills.

* FALL 2010 SOCCER and VOLLEYBALL: Teams are currently being formed. If you have not registered, please contact contact Craig Andrews (email: andrewsc@charter.net) for soccer grades 3-8, Rick Blaes (email: rbnmblaes@yahoo.com) for soccer grades Pre-K – 2, and Mark Franko (phone: 771-1729) for volleyball to see if you can be placed on a team.

* FALL SPORTS UNIFORM NIGHTS - The following are dates for fall sport uniform distributions:

  • Aug 3rd Tuesday Evening
  • Aug 19th Thursday Evening
  • Aug 28th Saturday Afternoon - SMOS Back-to-School Bar-B-Q

On these dates, parents/guardians will be required to provide a $50 uniform deposit check for each player's uniforms. Checks will be held and returned/destroyed if the uniform is returned to the Athletic Association in good condition at the end of the season.

Soccer socks will be available for purchase at $5 per pair.

* CYC ID CARDS: All 5th - 8th grade players participating in CYC sports are required to have a CYC ID Card. If player is participating in two sports, it is recommended that two cards be obtained. Cards can be obtained on-line or by attending a CYC sponsored card sessions. Check the CYC ID card link below for details:

* FUNDRAISER: SMOS AA is holding a fundraiser at STL Cardinal parking garages. This is a great way to meet your Athletic Association volunteering requirement. Duties include flagging/directing cars, collecting cash and parking tickets at the end of game. Fun starts @ 4:00pm. Some stay about 3 1/2 hours, others about 6 1/2 hours.

Additional fundraiser dates include Tuesday, July 20th and Tuesday, Sept 14th. Contact Ryan Kennedy with questions, email: RK2883@gates.com

  • Baseball/Softball – Pre K – 8th (Registrations held in mid-late February)
  • Volleyball – 3rd – 8th (Registrations held in mid-late May)
  • Basketball – 3rd – 8th (Registrations held in mid-late September)
