The Dragon's Grove is St. Margaret of Scotland's school and community garden. The garden is run by a committee of volunteers from the school, parish, and community. It is located on the northeast corner of Shaw and Lawrence, across the street from the school parking lot. The garden is in its third year and currently includes 18 raised beds, multiple fruit trees, benches, and a center patio. Each class has a garden bed and spends time working and learning in the garden, weather permitting. The Dragon's Grove is an outdoor classroom dedicated to furthering the mission and values of the school through hands on learning experiences and service opportunities. It allows children and parents to explore the natural world while fostering a sense of pride and shared purpose. The garden provides unique learning opportunities in subject areas that span the curriculum, including math, science, social studies, religion, and art. The students' involvement in the Dragon's Grove fosters a sense of stewardship toward the garden space, the community, and the environment.
